Urubuquaquá

Urubuquaquá (the title is borrowed from the Brazilian novelist João Guimarães Rosa) is a newsletter written by Benjamin Moser. I’ve written several books, including Sontag: Her Life and Work and Why This World: A Biography of Clarice Lispector. I’ve been a book critic at Harper’s Magazine, a columnist at The New York Times Book Review, and am now a staff writer at The Nation. I’ve translated books from several languages and am the Series Editor at New Directions for the new translations of Clarice Lispector’s work in English. I have won several awards, including Brazil’s State Prize in Cultural Diplomacy, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the Pulitzer Prize.
