A pandemic-native newsletter
Welcome to Urubuquaquá, a newsletter written every Tuesday about whatever I want to write about: books and art, friends and travel, animals and vegetarianism, and maybe a bit of politics. I’ve been a columnist at Harper’s Magazine and The New York Times Book Review, and I’m the author of Why This World: A Biography of Clarice Lispector and Sontag: Her Life and Work. For my work, I’ve received several prizes, including Brazil’s State Prize in Cultural Diplomacy, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a Pulitzer Prize.
(The name is borrowed from the title of a book by João Guimarães Rosa.)
In the meantime, tell your friends!
